Junior Mission to Mars – Robotics
Our Junior Engineers will be inspired by Mars-themed children’s literature featured in this program. The stories will deepen their knowledge and spark their imaginations as they engage in hands-on engineering challenges using EFK’s Engineering Design Process. In the stories and challenges, students will explore various topics in science, as well as robotics, mechanical, aerospace, geologic, and environmental engineering. This program is sure to spark children’s imaginations and ignite their curiosity about the future of Mars exploration.
- Date: Saturdays September 28 – November 16, 2024
- Time: 3 PM – 4 PM
- Location: Richvale Community Centre, Richmond Hill
Playful Playground Engineering
Students will become mechanical engineers that have been hired to design the ultimate playground in their community. Playgrounds are packed full of simple machines such as levers, wheels and axles, inclined planes and pulleys. in these lessons, students will learn about the simple machines they encounter every day at the playground while advancing their Robotics skills in building automated playgrounds. We can’t wait to play!
- Date: Sundays September 29 – November 17, 2024
- Time: 10 AM – 11 AM
- Location: Elgin West Community Centre, Richmond Hill
Richmond Hill Fall Classes Ages: 7-12
Robotics Gold Medal Worthy Program
Welcome to the Robot Medal Worthy Games, a place where engineers work to design the best experience for athletes, and robots compete in athletic challenges. In this program by Engineering For Kids, students will use the Engineering Design Process to take on a variety of challenges using the robots. Students will learn to build robots and use the coding program to compete in a variety of events, such as dancing, hockey, running, and Basketball. This is a gold-medal-worthy program filled with all of the fun and excitement of the Olympic games
- Date: Saturdays September 28 – November 16, 2024

- Location: Bayview Hill Community Centre
World Games Robotics
Welcome to World Games Robotics, a place where engineers work to design the best experience for athletes and robots compete in athletic challenges. In this program, students will use the EFK Engineering Design Process to take on a variety of challenges using the robotics kit. Students will learn to build robots and use coding to compete in a variety of events, such as Hide & Seek, breakdancing, and running. This is a gold-medal-worthy program filled with all of the fun and excitement of the World Games!

Coding Video Game: Tower Defense Game
Tower Defense Video game: Monkey vs. Balloons
Monkeys love popping balloons. In Electronic Game Design: Monkey vs. Balloons, we will create our own version of a tower defense game that will let those monkeys throw darts and bananas at balloons as much as they want. We will use the Engineering Design Process to create a storyboard to outline the rules of play and characters for our game. Then, we will bring our storyboard to life with programming. As the end of the class, everyone takes home a working Windows-compatible game.
- Date: Saturdays September 29 – November 17, 2024
- Time: 11:30 PM – 12:30 PM
- Location: Elgin West Community Centre
Vaughan Fall Classes Ages: 4-7
Junior Robotics + Civil Engineering
Fun meets innovation! Explore civil engineering concepts such as building, design and construction by investigating skyscrapers, bridges, roads and tunnels through project-based activities. Then, create and operate your own robot using LEGO® robotics and a computer to understand how robots work and practice programming skills to control their movements.
- Date: Saturdays September 22 – November 17, 2024
- Time: 9:30 – 10:30 AM
- Location: Dufferin Clark Community Centre
Junior Robotics + Marine Engineering
What causes something to sink or float? How can engineers help explore and protect the ocean below? Learn about marine engineering and mechanics, how to harness the power of water, and discover designs that help us make the impossible possible. Then, using LEGO robots, build and code a Floodgate for flood prevention.
- Date: Sundays September 22 – November 17, 2024 ( 5 Sessions)
- Time: 1:30 – 2:30 PM
